Obama and Business Process Outsourcing

A recent survey reports that 49% of the responders believed that Obama’s new policy on business process outsourcing will affect work in the Indian subcontinent. Obama’s policy states that American companies who outsource will be taxed extra. 32% of the responders feel confident that Obama’s policy will not have any effect on the BPO Services industry. They are of the firm belief that despite the tax, American skilled labor would still cost more than what the outsourced business would cost.
There are 19% of the people who are not fully aware of what the policy stands for. They have no clue about the tenets of the policy. They are, therefore, not in a position to report what impact it can have on the business process outsourcing. The survey was conducted among 600 people all over the globe. These responders were related to the business process outsourcing in some way or the other.
